About me.

I'm Steve Hudak, a Canadian 3D designer, visual designer, and media artist.

I have an unusually diverse portfolio having created technical sculpture in materials ranging from chocolate to bronze and now creating generative art and physical computing. Currently I am working on massive miniature polystyrene city installations, integrating projecting live mapped textures and interactive cloud structures.

I have a BFA with Distinction in Sculpture/Installation from OCADu and an MA in Communications and New Media from McMaster University.

I work as a Professor at Sheridan College where I teach in the Bachelor of Interaction Design Program.

Physical Computing

Bridging the physical and digital with sensors and data.

Projection Mapping

Live video textures dynamically placed on unexpected surfaces.

3D Design

Design that attracts attention in any material imaginable.

Generative Art

Searching for the computational sublime in ambient algorithms.

Experience

I have been making things and showing others how to make things for most of my life. My focus is always on intentionality and effectiveness, concept and practice, play and beauty.
